Deep Time Walk
Carolina Mello / Antje Disterheft
Meeting point: library entrance
We invite you to a different walk…
On the “Deep Time Walk”, we will delve into Earth’s history and travel through the 4.6 billion year timeline. We go back to the past and walk through time, starting with the formation of the solar system and Earth. The Deep Time Walk covers significant events in our planet’s history, including the formation of the Moon, plate tectonics, the early evolution of life, dinosaurs and much more. The walk will contextualize humanity’s rich ancestral heritage and provide insight into the interconnectedness of all life.
This activity allows for new reflections on planet Earth and the global climate emergency. We can still be surprised by the place where we work, study and/or live, connecting to the Earth in a different way than we are used to and discovering new miracles at every step.
Note: The walk is easy, but we recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Don’t forget your water bottle 😉 !
Please register here.

Film screening: “É p’ra amanhã” - Episode about Economy
with the presence of some of the protagonists
Library’s Auditorium
Inspired by the French documentary “Demain” [Tomorrow], six young Portuguese people set out to tour the country in search of what is being done in the area of sustainability in Portugal.
“É p’ra amanhã” [It’s for tomorrow] is an inspiring project at all levels. It resulted in five thematic episodes in which the project team invites us on a journey to a sustainable future.
Today, we will show the episode about “Economy”. We will have with us some of the protagonists in this episode, namely Salomé Areias from Fashion Revolution Portugal (and member of the Care-Days team) and Filipe Alves, co-founder of Biovilla and expert in Alternative Economies.
14:30 - 15:15
Sharing Circle about Consumption
Filipe Alves and everyone interested (Salomé Areias)
outdoors - lawn in front of the library
A sharing circle is a space free of judgment where participants are free to openly share their experience and feelings about a topic. This edition about consumption, which welcomes in the circle the perspective of Filipe Alves (representing É P’ra Amanhã), embraces topics such as the need for purchase, impulsive buying, eco-anxiety and consumer-based accountability.
Although linked to the theme of the documentary shown above, you can participate without having seen the episode and without any experience or specific knowledge about consumption.
The sharing circle is facilitated by Salomé Areias.

Author of the book “Aqui e Agora – Mindfulness”, Vasco has a lot of experience in the area of self-regulation and co-regulation for healthier relationships, whether in personal life, in academia, in companies or any other professional context.

Afterwards, there will be a moment of socializing with the possibility of having a light and healthy snack.

Concert “Libertad” by Lídia Lins and band
in front of the library
Throughout history, the human being has created and listened to music for many purposes. Music has served to express emotions, such as joy or sorrow, and has done so very effectively. This concert is designed to take you into an inner journey and connect you directly to your most authentic self. Using instruments such as the guitar, drums, and rattles, the aim is to bring to the listener sounds of the forest combined with vocal melodies that lead them straight to their hearts, to the idea that we are one and all connected.
Lidia Lins, Greg with Peace, and Rui Aires play original and shamanic medicine songs inspired by the indigenous tribes of the Amazon and by Lidia’s own journey of connecting body and mind.
Listen here to Lídia Lins’ music.
